Overcrowded weeks and rising stress: employers are getting a growing role in the well-being of their employees. As many as 1 million Dutch employees suffer from burnout complaints.
Breaking the week in a de-stressing way is therefore important. A visit to a museum provides breathing space, reduces stress and nourishes inspiration. However, people are more likely to opt for accessible alternatives, such as a visit to the terrace.
So how can you reverse the challenges of both worlds and bring them together? By creating the MuseumVrij initiative: a moment where you can enjoy a relaxing visit to the museum during working hours.
a license for healthier well-being
The website was the focal point of the national campaign that ran during National Museum Week. Our focus in designing the UX (User Experience) was therefore on creating a digital experience where people could easily discover what the concept of MuseumVrij entailed. At the same time, it was important to simply apply for a license and view participating museums.
The digital style consists of abstract form elements and a colorful color palette to contribute to a relaxing experience. Not a standard, but an interactive form, gave the feeling that you were actually drawing up your own license, which you then send to your employer. In the 1.5 week run of the campaign, organizations from small to large were inspired, including The Ocean Cleanup, ThiemeMeulenhoff and Crisp.
the project in a nutshell
“Within a very short time (± 3 weeks), a user-friendly and well-organized website was designed and developed.”
interested in museums for a large and diverse audience
The Museum Association helps more than 450 Dutch museums to make permanent ties with museum collections possible for all residents of our country.
They do this by creating support from the public and politicians. They also focus on increasing quality in the sector as a whole.
